In tough economic times Central New Yorkers are looking for ways to make money, and even save some cash. For some, garage sales may be the way to do it!

Garage sales, gas, and groceries. They may not seem related, but think of it this way - if you are going garage sale-ing, you'll probably save money on some of life's necessities - like clothing.

And if you're a seller, that spring cleaning has the potential to add up to some serious cash! Most garage salers say that money will go straight to gas and grocery bills.

"We cleaned out all the rooms, cleaned out the basement," said Paula Boyer, who was having a garage sale Friday. "We're selling a lot of tenting things, big screen, big tent, some glassware, a little bit of everything."

Paula Boyer says one year she made close to $500 at her garage sale - big bucks for things she says she didn't even want anymore.

And if you're in the mood for some bargain shopping, garage sales will be going on all weekend in the Town of Deerfield. It may be a good way to make up for those rising gas and grocery costs.
