Tornado Touch Down Confirmed In Camden Saturday Night

WKTV News

The cleanup is underway in Camden after a tornado touches down in the early evening hours of Saturday night.

Members of the National Weather Service were in Camden to survey the damage this morning. They now confirm the a tornado did in fact whip through the area. A barn was completely destroyed. The twister also ripped through some trees on the property and pulled siding off of the home. Items from the home were found Sunday morning about a 1/4 mile up the road.

I was at the RCS Festival and they were very concerned for the people attending the Festival. They brought all of us inside and kept us very informed. So very organized.

While it would be great to get some notification from somewhere of an impending threat, ultimately we all need to be responsible for our own safety. Do you want a gov't agency responsible because you're a taxpayer? Then they will also tell you what you MUST do when there's a threat. No, thank you.

I fear being from St. Johnsville noone covers our weather. Should we be in the path of such a storm who would notify us? Our news comes from either Albany we are the last to know . Even the flood of 06 it hit our homes before we were warned . It's a safty issue
