Ilion man charged for allegedly touching 9 year old boy in sexual manner

ILION - State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Lysander arrested Kevin F. Hurteau, 38, of Ilion.

Hurteau was charged with one count of sexual abuse in the first degree - sex contact with a person less than 11 years old, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation revealed that Hurteau was at a residence in the Town of Clay and while at that residence he allegedly touched a 9 year old boy inappropriately.

Hurteau was arraigned before Town of Clay Justice Brian Lauri and committed to the Onondaga County Justice Center in lieu of $25,000 bail / $50,000 bond.

It is so sad when you read articles such as this...obviously this child's life will be altered forever, and there is nothing we can do to change that. Not saying this man shouldn't be punished, but I just wish we could fix what he did, and there is no way to do that. The world is such as sad place.

I believe that any contact with a child in ANY inappropriate manner is subject to the maximum time allowed by law. Granted, I don't know the exact nature of the crime but it is completely deplorable.
