Stand-out officers recognized at awards ceremony

UTICA - The Oneida County Law Enforcement Coalition honored local stand-out officers today for outstanding service and valor.

The annual ceremony took place Tuesday morning in Utica College's Strebel Hall. Roughly 50 area police officers from more than 20 departments came to see their co-workers honored.

One local police chief pointed out that police officers do their jobs with valor every day in ways we'll never even know about- and that's why an occasional public 'thank you' is in order.

Also part of the Law Enforcement Coalition awards - a moment of silence for New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr and Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey, who were both killed in the line of duty.
