HERKIMER - A local traveling memorial to honor New York's fallen solders was unveiled Monday at the HCCC Campus.

202 stars now honor these men and women who paid the ultimate price in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This was Mimi Martin's first Memorial Day without her husband, Sean, who was killed in combat six days into his tour as a bomb technician.

She said it was huge to her that these people came out to honor her husband and all veterans. She said they understood the risks in his going into combat but she is still so proud of him.

"We always need to remember our veterans, especially those who ave made the ultimate sacrifice," said Ray Lenacic.

Creators say this memorial is not just a memorial but a call to action for people to do good deeds in honor of New York's fallen heroes.
