Proctor dedicates yearbook to Officer Thomas Lindsey and Christopher Donalty

By PAT BAILEY

UTICA - The honors keep coming for fallen Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey. This year's Proctor High School Yearbook will have a full page dedication to him. This year the yearbook committee chose two men to honor. Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey, and Chris Donalty, both men went through the Utica School System.

Members of this year's Proctor Yearbook Committee say they thought about dedicating last year's yearbook to Lindsey. However, the yearbook had already gone to print when he was killed.

The dedication gives a brief description of Lindsey's life, starting with his graduation from Utica Senior Academy, to his time as a marine. It also says when Lindsey was hired by UPD, in 2001, 6 years before he was killed during a routine traffic stop.

Also being honored in this year's yearbook is Chris Donalty, who died of epilepsy. Donalty was a graduate at Proctor, and on the baseball team. He died in 2002, 4 years after graduating.

"We thought it was important to recognize him for all the hard work he did for the Utica Police Department," said Tess Burns of the Yearbook Committee. "One of the very first pages will be the dedication to Officer Lindsey and a couple pages after that is a full page dedication also to Chris Donalty."

The yearbook committee says the dedications will be put in the very beginning of the year book, each being about a full page long. The students should receive those yearbooks sometime next week.
