UTICA - In the wake of the F.X. Matt Brewery Fire's destruction, brewery officials say they are determined to move forward. Though it will not be an easy task, the Matt Family says they are already making progress towards plans to rebuild. The Matt Family remains optimistic in what may be one of the toughest weeks in the company's history.

Brewing operations are up and running as kegging restarted Wednesday. As for temporarily outsourcing canning operations, a brewery spokesperson mentioned two breweries in New York that the company has been talking with. There are still lots of details that need to be ironed out before anything is official.

The third floor is a complete loss along with all the packaging supplies that were stored there. A brewery spokesperson says that the company's distributors have been going above and beyond in order to get those supplies replaced quickly so production can continue.

The Matt Brewery President, Nick Matt says that everything is still day-to-day. Nick Matt says that the structural integrity of the second floor is okay. He says the company is planning to clean it up, re-work it and use it again as a production facility.

Of course, the Matt Family has said it time and time again over the past week, that they are determined to come back stronger and better than ever.
