Former Attorney pleaded guilty in bilking client out of funds
UTICA - A former attorney who stood accused of bilking one of her clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars has pleaded guilty. In Oneida County Court on Friday, Mary Helene Hamlin pleaded guilty in the scheme that stole more than $350,000 from the estate of her now deceased former client - John Hatfield Sr. As part of her plea deal, Hamlin is required to help the Oneida County District Attorney's Office in possible future court proceedings against a woman named Dorene Dorn, who Hamlin says was also involved in the misappropriation of funds. Hamlin will return to court for sentencing in August. The following comments do not necessarily represent the views of NBC-WKTV News Channel 2.
