Fire at Kennedy Plaza Apartment Complex

Utica firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out just after 6:30 Sunday evening forcing the evacuation of the 17 story Kennedy Plaza Apartment

The fire originated in apartment on the 11th floor of the high rise. Firefighters made quick work of the flames, containing the fire to one apartment, though firefighters say it is a complete loss. No other rooms have been effected.

One person suffered smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene. The Assistant Fire Chief says the hardest part about this fire was making sure everyone was out of the building.
