ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - It may have seemed a bit smaller in size compared to other graduations around the area, but there was just as much accomplishment at the New York State School for the Deaf graduation Friday in Rome, with seven students turning their tassels.
What sets this graduation apart from many area high schools is that the entire ceremony is done in sign language.
The seven students who graduated on Friday were Taiba Dawlat of Utica, Jeffrey Marshall of Willsboro, Amanda Miller of Syracuse, David Molina of Rome, Sinclair Newman of Syracuse, Aaron Spence of Liverpool, and Vincent Vicik of Syracuse.
