Testimony in 'Babysitter' trial ends

WKTV News

UTICA - Closing arguments will get underway Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of sexually abusing a six year old girl.

Michael Chicherchia took the stand Tuesday in his own defense. He is accused of touching a girl while babysitting her.

Chicherchia told the courtroom he was left alone with the victim on other occasions and nothing inappropriate happened. He claims to have spanked her on the night in question and that it was not anything sexual. The six year-old child took the stand earlier in the day and said otherwise. The jury is expected to get the case by Wednesday afternoon.
