Clean Air Green Tour bus makes stop in Little Falls to promote going green

By SUSAN CAMPBELL

LITTLE FALLS - A cross-country tour to promote energy efficiency and "green thinking" rolled into town Friday! The "green bus" is being used as a teaching tool in communities close to home and across America.

This bus is on a cross-country trip to promote greener living.  It is especially important here in Little Falls because Salada is one of the tour's main sponsors.

Friday, employees at Redco Foods got an up close look at the motor coach that's making its way across 43 states.

"We just thought we'd bring it back here to Little Falls where our factory is, where our employees work really hard and in order to thank them and thank the community, we wanted to share this with them," Redco Brand Manager Michele Peters.

In all, 120 stops. That will add up to 50,000 miles across the country. It's all in an effort to prove, it's easy being green! But the Clean Air Green Tour Director says lots of people don't even know what it means to actually be green.

"Being green is recycling and it's really energy saving. It's going to help your pocket and the bottom line by using alternative fuels or electric or whatever it might be," says Jim Paar.

The nation-wide tour started earlier this month, and will wrap up in November.

A 400HP diesel bus driving through 48 states is promoting green? Kind of ironic isn't it?
