Camden man charged for theft from employer

NEW HARTFORD - The New Hartford Police concluded a 3-week investigation into an employee theft from the C & S Wholesale Grocers located at 1 Oxford Crossing.

On June 30, 2008 Mark W. Campbell 40, of Camden was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant by the Oneida County Sheriffs Office at his residence and turned over to the New Hartford Police Warrants Division.

According to Patrolman Matthew Sica, Campbell was an employee at C & S Wholesale Grocers and in April 2008 he began unlawfully writing out company checks to himself.

Campbell wrote and cashed a total of six checks in excess of $5800.00 without the permission of the company.

Campbell was charged on 1 count of Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree and 6 counts of Forgery in the 2nd degree, all felonies. He was arraigned in the Town Of New Hartford court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail on Bail. He is due to return to court at a later date.
