WATERVILLE - A Post Office in Waterville will soon bear the name of fallen soldier Corporal John Sigsbee who died this past year while serving in the Middle East. Congressman Michael Arcuri sponsored the legislation which went to the floor of the House of representatives Tuesday.

"The re-naming of this Post Office may be considered by some as a simple act by Congress but it will forever symbolize for the Village of Waterville and the citizens of Oneida County and to future generations the deep appreciation legislative body has for this man's life and contributions," Arcuri said on the floor of the House.

The legislation passed by an overwhelming majority Tuesday afternoon. Arcuri is up for re-eletion this November and is being challenged by Cooperstown businessman Richard Hanna.
