Police substation opens on Varick and Cooper Streets in Utica

UTICA - The Utica Police Department is keeping a better eye on Varick and Cooper Streets.

They set up a new substation to keep control of the crowds that come out for events such as Saranac Thursday.

Police say the substation provides a place to bring suspects, and acts as a central location for people to seek help.
