Public Safety Commissioner orders Lansing Street structure to be vacated for one year
UTICA - Public Safety Commissioner Daniel LaBella has ordered 721 Lansing Street be vacated for one year from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009. This order is due to the city’s public nuisance abatement law states that two (2) or more incidents of prohibited activity occur with one year. On two occasions search warrants led to finding of illegal drugs. In fact, the second warrant led to the arrest of the owner himself, Frank Gottuso who resides at 721 Lansing Street. Before the premises can be occupied, the owner must ensure that the Codes and Fire Department inspect the premises as necessary and approve the property for the continuation of occupancy. The public nuisance abatement law is very valuable tool that is frequently used in police work. Most Popular
