Fire destroys Herkimer fitness center

HERKIMER - A fire broke out at the Body Dimensions Fitness Center on Protection Avenue in Herkimer.

The fire was called in just before 11:00 Friday morning. When fire crews first arrived on the scene, heavy smoke was billowing out of the building. The flames were so strong that they caused the roof to collapse. National Grid was also on the scene to cut power to the building.

Traffic was being re-routed around that area, so several streets surrounding Protection Avenue are closed off. No word on if anyone is hurt and no word on a cause.

Why would Legal Notice make comment like he did with apparently no basis to do so. It is NOT true, the Gym is not being foreclosed on. This is easily verified. I heard late in the day that an accidental cause has been found. How do you feel now Legal Notice? Good Luck to one of the nicest families in Herkimer.

I know what happen, Theresa told me that she was told by Kid En Me that she was with Wow(who is a cow) that the bank was in forclosure on the building. This doesnt make someone bad. Am I remembering correctly that this is not the first fire they've had to deal with? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but wasn't there a fire that resulted in them moving to Protection Ave? I was young, and I can't quite remember where they were located before?

Lemme see... The fire appeared to be in the attic by the front of the building near the attic fan, and you muse about maybe he was going under?
