Hollyrock in Sylvan Beach stripped of temporary liquor permit

SYLVAN BEACH - The Hollyrock Beach Bar Resort in Sylvan Beach was stripped of its temporary liquor permit Friday.

The establishment was cited by the State Liquor Authority for several violations. The state noted noise, fights, patrons urinating on neighbors lawns and alcohol served at an outside bar that was not licensed.

Hollyrock owner Matt Demar says he is trying to work the problems out and hopes to re-apply for a liquor license.

State Liquor Authority Director of Communications William Crowley says it is unlikely that a permit will be approved in the future given the recent violations.

Demar owns the Crazy Monkey Boyz Saloon in Herkimer and a Hollyrock on Varick street in Utica. The Sylvan Beach Hollyrock opened on July 4th.
