Former attorney sentenced to six months of house arrest

UTICA - A former attorney who stood accused of bilking one of her clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars was sentenced in Oneida County Court on Friday.

Mary Helene Hamlin received 6 months under house arrest and will serve five years on probation.

Hamlin pleaded guilty back in June to a scheme that stole more than $350,000 from the estate of the now deceased John Hatfield Sr.

(the City of Utica Dropped their charges of leaving the scene of an accident). and later found in New Hartford and charged with DWI (BAC .19)...New Hartford let this UNDERAGE kid plead down to DWAI and just pay a fine...(probably had mommy pay it. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?????????

People should start writing to the Attorney General on how the court systems favor high placed people. The Judge and Da should be placed in jail for this also.

Why did this professional only get 6 mo. house arrest and 5 years probation? She betrayed a trust and should serve "real time" as so many poor people do (as they can't afford to hire a good personal attorney)
