Scooters could help consumer save money on gas

Jerry Walsh

With the price of gas going up, many people are looking for other ways to get around. One of the options out there is a gas powered scooter. They have smaller tanks but get better mileage than most cars.

The average scooter consumer will spend about seven or eight dollars to fill up their tanks. Depending on what type of scooter you have a full tank could allow you to travel up to 200 miles. Scooters travel between 65 and 115 miles per every gallon.

Local retailers say scooters have been generating a lot of interest lately. The machines costs between $2,000 and $5,800.
