Couple charged after theft of prepaid credit cards from Rite Aid
NEW YORK MILLS - A New York Mills woman and her boyfriend have been arrested following an investigation into a complaint from the loss prevention department of stolen merchandise from the New York Mills Rite Aid Store. According to the New York Mills Police Department, Kaitlyn Wendt of New York Mills, was arrested on ten felony charges and one misdemeanor charge. Police say Wendt stole approximately $4,010.24 worth of pre-paid credit cards and other merchandise while employed as a customer service representative at the Rite Aid located at 5206 Commercial Drive in the Village of New York Mills. Wendt was arraigned in New York Mills Village Court and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $12,000 cash/bond and is scheduled to appear in New York Mills Village Court on August 16 for a felony exam. Wendt faces charges of grand larceny, falsifying business records, criminal possession of stolen property, and scheme to defraud. Also arrested Kaitlyn's boyfriend Joshua Zieniewicz, 20, of New York Mills, who lives with Wendt. Zieniewicz was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, and unlawful possession of marijuana. Zieniewicz was also arraigned in Village Court and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in New York Mills Village Court on August 25. |
