YORKVILLE (WKTV) - A Yorkville man is under arrest after probation officers,  who were looking to arrest him for an alleged violation, got more than they'd bargained for.

State police chemists secured several mason jars and petri dishes containing possible psychedelic mushroom spores and unknown chemicals.
     
For now, Michael Schecter is under arrest for probation violation; more charges are possible pending analysis of the mushrooms and chemicals found in his home.

Ten families surrounding Schecter's home at 1004 Champlin Ave. in Yorkville had to be evacuated last night.  They were allowed back into their homes around 4am.

I don't know what is more frustrating as a neighbor....the discovery of this lab happening right in front of our eyes with no tell tale signs or the lack of organization & communication from the village around the evacuation of the neighbors.
