Sculptures on display at Griffiss Technology & Business Park

WKTV News

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Celebrating art right here in Central New York. That is the idea behind one of a series of sculptures, now on display.

On Thursday, the first sculpture entitled "The Birth of Venus," was put on display at Griffiss Technology and Business Park. The artist behind the work, Lucia Warck-Meister, has had her pieces displayed in Argentina, New York City and Miami among others.

Organizers say that bringing art to the park is important to help promote the area.

"Enhancing our business park, adding this new feature, adding another reason for the public to come into the park and enjoy our space and renovation and the transformation we've made to this former air force base," says Mary Rizzo of Mohawk Valley EDGE.

Rizzo added that if the public falls in love with the sculptures, they may be bought and kept on display at the park.
