all of you who think the new board will help our children are blind. They know nothing about education and don't care about the other children in the district other than thier own. every new member elected has a personal adgenda and doesn't care about others. If they did they would reverse a financially responsible decision that will put more educational programs into play. Instead they wish to save the bricks of buildings at the cost of education.

I am glad to see new faces voted to the BOE - now all this school district needs is a REAL leader, a superintendant who knows what he's doing - we need people on the BOE who actually have a vested stake in our children's future. I am ready to move to keep my child from being exposed to the idiocy this district has imposed on it's students the past 2 years. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Good Luck to the new Board - make us proud.

The people of Rome are obviously sick of people making their BOE jobs the way to make their mark on the City like statues of themselves to show their friends and families for yesrs to come how important they were. Astro-Turf fields next to old run down buildings bound to be closed, our new Taj Mahal that's been being fixed since it was built and exactly what these closings are laying the foundation for, another Taj Mahal elementary school. The BOE needs to drop it's my way or nothing attitude.

Yea...we need to completely get rid of the old board members...too wishy washy. Can't answer questions...no clear direction...can't make decisions and then make the wrong decisions based on what neighborhood they live in. Hopefully we will see positive changes with the new board members

you got what you wanted! you got the 5 you wanted but if they reverse the decision to close the 2 schools - what are we going to let Art and Music go out the window? I'll do every thing i can to make sure that don't happen. are we going to cut staff positions to make up the $1.2 million deficit? are we going to make class sizes bigger? you don't want that to happen. you better pray they don't reverse the decision!!!

Finally!! A loud a clear message to this school board that the citizens of Rome are sick and tired of the arrogant "This is what we want, we're doing it and we could care less what you say" attitude. Good luck to the new BOE people!!
