UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after shots rang out in the City of Utica and now police are searching for the person who pulled the trigger.

The shooting happened on the first floor of a multi-family home at 1527 Oneida Street around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.

Police are releasing few details at this time but we do know that an unidentified male is dead and a woman is being treated at the hospital.

Officers spent the majority of the afternoon interviewing witnesses and securing the scene. This is the third confirmed homicide in the city this year.
