On an annual basis, the district replaces a number of school buses according to its 10-year replacement plan. This year, it is recommended that two 2000 66-passenger diesel buses be replaced by two new buses of the same size. Total cost is estimated at $194,809. The district borrows for the buses over a five year period which matches with the state aid outlay. The first payment and receipt of aid will occur in the 2010-11 budget.
