Arrest Made In Fatal Double Shooting

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man is behind bars Sunday night, charged with murder--in connection with a fatal shooting in the City.

Police credit several leads for the arrest of 22-year-old Omar Thompson. He was taken into custody early this morning.

Thompson is charged with murder, attempted murder and robbery in the first degree--all charges related to Saturday's shooting. Police responded to reports of shots fired at 1527 Oneida Street. That's when they found 42-year-old Mark Dukett of Camden and 54-year-old Jeanie O'Brien, who suffered gunshot wounds.

Dukett was pronounced dead at the hospital; O'Brien was treated and released. This makes the second arrest out of three homicides in the city this year.
