Local woman takes top honors at State Fair for award-winning cake

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local woman takes top honors at the State Fair.

On Tuesday, Michelle MacEnroe showed off her award-winning cake at the State Office Building in Utica. Her chocolate cake won "Best in Class" and the "Best of the Day."

And this isn't MacEnroe's first time competing in the layer cake division.

"I was second last year," MacEnroe said. "I lost by a point. They said i needed more decoration. So this year I really decorated!"

MacEnroe also says she's going to work on new recipes to try at next year's State Fair.
