Investigators look into two fires in three days at Mohawk residence

By STEVE McMURRAY

MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - Village of Mohawk Police and Fire investigators are looking into the causes of two fires in three days at the same address.

The first fire destroyed a storage shed late Tuesday afternoon at 30 North Street.

Then just after 5 a.m. Thursday morning, fire crews responded to the same address, this time for a fire in an upstairs bathroom.

Mohawk Police Chief Joseph Malone tells NEWSChannel 2 that the investigation is still too preliminary to determine whether either of the fires is suspicious.

The Herkimer County Cause and Origin team is assisting in the investigation.

Homeowner is the one who should be suspicious. Accusing people of targeting him...how can someone set a fire inside your locked house? Do you know magicians? WKTV should get the whole story before allowing this guy to just tell his.

Two fires in three days at the same address and this is not suspicious, somebody is on top of their game.
