United Mine Workers Association endorses Congressman Arcuri

WKTV News

ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - The United Mine Workers Association Local 717 endorsed Congressman Michael Arcuri for the 24th district seat.

The union represents over 600 employees at Remington Arms.

Normally firearms are associated with Republicans, but the Compact Committee Chair, Frank Brown, says they are supporting Arcuri, because he has supported them.  "Mike's been a champion for Remmington," Brown said.  "He actually came through the plant not too long ago with the general, promoting Remmington, promoting fire arms, promoting our facility.  He's been great for Remmington Arms, does a lot of work for us there."

Cooperstown businessman, Richard Hanna, who is running against Arcuri for the 24th Congressional District seat, and his campaign released a response:  "Richard Hanna stands by the 2nd Amendment as it's written and he's always been supportive of it."

Their (UMWA) support sounds terribly suspicious..... Of course Arcuri is going to support any business in his district. MIke's a great politician!
