Local Red Cross volunteers remain in south following Hurricane Gustav; more on hand for Ike

MONROE, L.A. (WKTV) - 15 local American Red Cross volunteers are still in Louisiana and Mississippi following Hurricane Gustav.

More volunteers are on standby right now, ready to be deployed to wherever needed based on Hurricane Ike's path and landfall.

The National Chapter of the Red Cross called on local volunteers to head to New Orleans and to Houston to help with Gustav's aftermath.

They served in a variety of roles - everything from fundraising to emotional support.
