Boonville man arrested two days after eluding Sheriffs in foot chase
BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit, a Boonville man was arrested and charged with Criminal possession of a weapon Thursday afternoon. According to Sheriff investigators, Robert G. Simpson, 38, of Boonville, was arrested. Investigators say Simpson was stopped by Sheriff's road patrol for vehicle and traffic charges in the Village of Boonville on September 9, 2008. It was at that time Simpson left the pickup truck he was operating and fled on foot. Simpson was chased but managed to elude police. At that time a pair of metal knuckles was found in the pickup truck. On Thursday, September 11, Simpson was taken into custody by members of the patrol division at a location in the Town of Camden and brought to the Law Enforcement Building where he was interviewed and subsequently charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Simpson was arraigned in front of acting Village of Oriskany Court Justice Christopher Clarkin and committed to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. Simpson is to be back in court on September 16. Additional vehicle and traffic charges are pending. Most Popular
