Barrier Windows salesmen charged for using checks written by company customers for personal benefit
WESTMORELAND, N.Y. - Two salesmen with Barrier Windows in Westmoreland are facing charges, after State Police say they took checks written by company customers and used them for their own personal benefit.
On September 15, the State Police in Marcy's Criminal Investigation unit concluded a month-long investigation into the theft of money from customers of Barrier Windows, located in Westmoreland. Two salesmen for the company have been charged with multiple felonies after they received checks from Barrier Customers that they did not apply to their accounts. The checks were subsequently cashed and used by these salesman for their own benefit. Arrested on September 12 was Anthony J. Darmetco, 57, of Troy, who was charged with three counts of grand larceny, and three counts of falsifying business records. Darmetco was subsequently arraigned in the Town of Westmoreland Court and was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $7,500 bond. Arrested on September 15 was Marco A. Rubino, 23, of Utica, who was charged with grand larceny and was subsequently arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court where he posted $1,000 cash bail. Both men are currently out of jail on bail. |
