Economic Bailout; Local Taxpayers React
REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - How are folks on Main Street reacting to the news of the 700 billion dollar bailout? We hit Main Street in Remsen during Sunday's Barn Festival of the Arts to get the answer.
Carol Milliman, of Milliman Fudge Co. says "I gave up on politics, they're just playing games, I'm not happy about it, I don't want to pay it." Many folks say they are spending less and some of the workers at the festival say they are seeing that firsthand. Pat Northrup, Remsen VFW 982 Axillary President says "People are spending a lot less, I mean you see people, they're coming back empty handed, the economy, the cost of things, they got to give up somewhere." Taxpayers will likely be paying for this 700 billion dollar bail out for many years to come and Joseph Godley, a vendor from Syracuse wants to know "How am I going to get it back, I don't care about giving it, but how am i going to get it back." |
