Despite The Economy, Local Professor Suggests Jobs Will be Secure on Wall Street

By PAT BAILEY

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) -  Dr. James Bradfield says despite an un-easiness on wall street, there will still be opportunities for graduating students to have a successful career.

About a quarter of the graduating class at Hamilton College, each year, is comprised of Economics and Government majors.

Dr. Bradfield says the U.S. has been through this type of concern before, in 1987, 1997. Bradfield says after seeing a rebound in the previous years, there should be no reason to believe there won't be another. The professor of Economics says once there is, there will be new concerns, such as a lack of social security.Bradfield says its those worries where students can cash in.

"I have always told my students, even before this, I think from here on out the money to be made, on Wall Street, is not in securities analysts, rather creating new kinds of security. Figuring out how those securities are to be priced," said Bradfield.

Dr. Bradfield predicts the lack of social security, in the U.S. should start between 8 and 10 years from now. Bradfield says, graduating Economics and Government majors now, who can solve that problem down the road, will be very successful.

I have about 13,000 on a credit card youch!!!! maybe the feds will bail me out of my bad financial thinking? I made some bad decisions like the wall street boys. I need help. I demand to be bailed out of my mess. I don't want to be a responsible person. I promise that someday I'll pay it back. I'll sign a contract with the feds promising not to do it again. what do you think fellow taxpayers? let me off the easy way?
