Stocks open lower after big rebound

NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks are opening lower, extending this week's gyrations as investors await a possible Senate vote on the
government's proposed $700 billion financial sector bailout.

Stocks are down after partially rebounding Tuedsay from Monday's
plunge. Investors are preoccupied with the fate of the financial
rescue plan, worrying after it failed a House vote Monday but are
now more hopeful that lawmakers will eventually sign off on the
plan.

The Dow Jones industrials are down 120 at the 10,730 level after
surging 485 Tuesday.
