Man charged with DWI after early morning fatal accident
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man is dead and another injured after an early morning car accident. Now the driver is charged in relation to the crash. The incident happened on Broad Street just after 2:00 AM. Police responded and found a Chevy Trailblazer overturned. Two of the passengers were taken to the hospital. Police say 24-year-old Omar Harvey of Utica died this afternoon from his injuries. 25-year old Benjamin Reed remains in the hospital in serious condition. The driver, 25-year old Oliver Rodgers Junior, is now facing multiple charges including DWI-common law and leaving the scene of an accident. Rodgers was arraigned in city court and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility. The following comments do not necessarily represent the views of NBC-WKTV News Channel 2.
