One man apprehended as Rome Police investigate auto parts theft
ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rome Police are investigating a theft of auto parts from a dealership along Erie Boulevard that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday. Around 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Rome patrol officers were conducting extra checks of the auto dealerships and business located along the Erie Blvd corridor due to recent reports of overnight thefts from vehicles in that area. While conducting the extra checks, officers observed an adult male removing automotive parts from a vehicle parked in the Crystal Motors lot. The male was apprehended and upon further investigation, police determined that the male had removed several automotive parts from the vehicle. Rome Detectives responded to the scene and are continuing the investigation into the incident.
