I am a family member of Ryan, And It is a tragedy for both families involved. Both Mrs. Burk and Ryan were victims of this horrible accident. I think it is really a shame that people would jump to conclusions about the accident when they were not there, and do not have a connnection with either of the people involved in the crash. This was a ACCIDENT! People should not judge, god forbid you were ever in this horrible situation. Both families have been devastated by this ACCIDENT!

Thank you for pointing out that there is two sides to every story. I too know Ryan and his family and know they are good hardworking people that are devastated by this event. We should pray for both families after all it was an accident and it could have happened to anyone!

I am a family friend of the driver of the truck. Ryan and his family are truly devastated and heart broken. And then they see comments regarding their family member plastered on this website from people who have no clue what even happened and it is very upsetting. People need to consider both sides of this tragedy there is more than one victim here! Mrs. Burke lost her life and a husband lost his partner that is horrible. And Ryan has to cope with this the rest of his life. It is a very sad time

My heart goes out to Mrs. Burke's family. This was truly a tragedy. I would also like to say I am Mr Lucia's age and I think that people see that 1st and jump to the conclusion that he must have been irresponsible and at fault. No one knows what happened except the victims involved so don't be so IGNORANT. Mr Lucia has live with the fact that someone died because of an accident he could NOT have prevented. I truly feel sorry for him. 2 families are suffering here. I wish peace 4 both of them.

At her age I'm sure they were married a very long time, he's probably lost a good portion of his heart. My thoughts and prayers are with this family and I hope they can survive such a tragedy, Ryan should get a manslaughter charge if he hit her because he was on a cell phone, or just not paying attention.

No tickets, I'm sure because she was on a bicycle they will say that he "couldnt see her" Why is it when you get hit on a motorcycle or bicycle the driver always gets off???

Apparently you know more about the circumstances than the rest of us Ken. You automatically assume the young driver of the pickup is at fault. That could be the case, but right now let the investigation run its course.

I went to school with Ryan and can honestly say he is a great person who is, I'm sure, devastated by this horrible accident. My thoughts and prayers are with both families.

My wife wants a scooter to save gas. This is the reason I wont let her get one. Some nimrod with barely enough brains to drive would end up taking her out becuase they werer't paying attention. I feel so bad for her husband.

I EVEN MADE A COMMENT TO MYSELF THAT WHEN I GET THIS AGE, MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE ABLE TO BE AS HAPPY AND HEALTHY TO GET ON OUR BIKES AND JUST ENJOY A BEAUTIFUL DAY. I RETURNED FROM THE BANK TAKING THE SAME WAY HOME AND WAS DEVOSTATED TO SEE THE BICYCLE UNDERNEATH A VEHICLE. I KNEW IT WAS ONE OF THEM. I CRIED ALL THE WAY HOME. IM SO SORRY TO THE HUSBAND,FAMILY
