Those who recall tales of Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland singing a couple impromptu songs from the hotel mezzanine are only moderately star-struck about the Vice President's visit. "But we're blessed with some of the most notable names in the world who have stayed at the Hotel Utica and he'll be just another one we can brag about and add to that list of dignitaries," says Carucci.

Director of Sales & Marketing Debra Richardson takes pride in chronicalling the hotel's illustrious history. "Many many legends. When you walk through here and you walk up those stairs you're walking with a lot of spirits of the most famous faces of the past."
