UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - She ain't afraid of no ghost! (But she doesn't like scary movies!) Lauren Telarole, of Sauquoit, entered a contest on the Sci-Fi Channel's, "Ghost Hunters" show and wound up one of three finalists nationwide. She entered Beardslee Castle, of Little Falls, as a local place filled with ghostly lore and unexplained happenings. Telarole spoke with owners of the castle who shared some of their experiences.
"The owner has told me some stories about things he's experienced as far as seeing shadows, hearing things, silverware being moved or being placed very oddly on the table, glasses breaking," says Telarole.
The Sci-Fi Channel has already visited Beardslee and filmed a segment, which will air Halloween sometime between 7pm and 2am. During that time, Telarole will be one of three finalists taking part in a live ghost hunt on the Sci-Fi Channel. Viewers can vote for Telarole or the other two finalists during that time. If she wins, the Sci-Fi Channel will return to Little Falls to film a feature story on Beardslee Caste.
Telarole already feels like a winner; the channel has already flown Telarole twice to the hotel which served as horror author Stephen King's inspiration for the movie, "The Shining". Asked her favorite ghost story/movie, Telarole shockingly replied that she doesn't like scary movies. The real thing, apparently, is no problem!
