Verona House Fire:
Little is left of a home in Verona after a fire ripped through it on Sunday. About 60 firefighters from five different departments helped bring the blaze under control. Fire officials say the blaze started in the back of the home and quickly spread to an attached garage.
Gas Larceny Leads to Police Chase:
An Otsego County man is facing a laundry list of charges after he allegedly lead police on a wild chase. Police said Steven VanBuren of Worcester stole gas from a Stewarts store, and caused two accidents while fleeing.
Final Lap:
Though many polls show him leading the White House race on Election Eve, Barack Obama is telling his backers they "cannot afford to slow down or sit back or let up." John McCain's sprint to the campaign finish will take him through seven swing states, beginning this morning in Florida.
Circuit City Closing Stores:
In a defensive move to avoid filing bankruptcy-court protection, big-box
electronics retailer Circuit City may close 150 stores nationwide. Arizona is one of states that may be heavily affected by the closures. No word if the Circuit City in New Hartford will be affected.
Cheap Gas:
Great news for drivers as the record-setting month of October ends. Gas prices fell by more than a dollar last month.
