Two awards are given out annual at the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony:
 

Ford C. Frick Award

2006 Honoree: Gene Elston 

The Ford C. Frick Award is presented annually to a broadcaster for "major contributions to baseball." The award, named after the late broadcaster and National League President, has been presented annually since 1978. 

The Ford C. Frick Award is presented annually at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Each award recipient (not to be confused with an inductee) is presented with a calligraphy of the award during the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and is recognized in the "Scribes & Mikemen" exhibit in the Library of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

J.G. Taylor Spink Award 

 

2006 Honoree: Tracy Ringolsby 

The J.G. Taylor Spink Award, named after the late founder of The Sporting News, has been voted upon annually since 1962 when Spink himself was the recipient of the inaugural honor. The award honors a baseball writer (or writers) "for meritorious contributions to baseball writing" and is presented at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony by that year's President of the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA).
