ROME (WKTV) -  Mayor James Brown said Tuesday night that he will no longer be affiliated with the Republican Committee in the city of Rome.

Brown, however, says he will still be a registered Republican.

The mayor says there are four common councilors who want to change certain aspects of the city charter, initiatives Brown says he disagrees with.

Brown said he wants to, "take a stand against these changes."
