Capital Project changes for Whitesboro Schools?

By By EVAN WHITE

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - School officials are hoping for a gift before the holiday's end, a vote of confidence from Whitesboro voters. A $104 million dollar capital project was chopped down to a roughly $70 million dollar proposal. The project would improve heating and ventilation issues, create new classrooms, and upgrade electric and plumbing systems. The project's cost is just over $50 million, though bonding for it runs that cost to $70 million. Taxpayers would be on the hook for just under $13 million through a tax hike starting in 2011. The rest would be paid through state aid. CLICK HERE For Official District Information
