RoboSpartans triumph at Tech Valley Challenge
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. - The New Hartford RoboSpartans took home a first a third place award from the 2008 FIRST LEGO League Tech Valley Challenge.
The team consists of students from the ER Hughes Elementary School, and the competition was held on Saturday, December 6 at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Intel donated $30,000 for the event and also set aside money to provide scholarships to several teams to off set the cost to compete. Out of a field of 24 teams, the RoboSpartans finished in first place for the design of their robot and also came in third for performance. The trophies the RoboSpartans won, are made entirely out of legos. |
