Paterson may introduce "obesity tax" on non-diet sodas

WKTV News

(WKTV) - The Governor is not the favorite person amongst soda lovers, who may be paying more for the bubbly drink.

Many obesity studies point to soda as the single largest source of calories for people in the U.S. It's sweet and bubbly and Americans have loved their soda since it popped onto the scene in the 1800'S.

Today it is a multi-billion dollar industry and Governor David Paterson wants to cut into some of that money with an "obesity tax" on non-diet sodas.
