Budget proposal includes changes to minimum security camps
(WKTV) - In Governor David Paterson's budget proposal is the downsizing or closure of certain minimum security camps. Among those that are mentioned in the budget include Camp Pharsalia in Chenango County and Camp Georgetown in Madison County. The proposal says that they are both under-utilized, with both at around 50% of capacity. Closing them would save the state around $26 million. Earlier this year we reported that Camp Pharsalia employs 100 people. |
