To the one titled "reality" again do you know the whole story doesnt sound like it. You might want to find out what, what the whole story is. The child was not neglected at all. So you might want to find out first what really happened. People like you jump and think that every adult in this world must neglect there child then. But you must be the only adult in this world that is a perfect adult. Because sorry to spoil it for you but you are not a perfect person, because I know I am not.

Melissa I agree with everything that you have said. People that dont know the whole story need not comment this is a very loving family and she and her husband would do anything for anybody. It was an accident , no one intends for accidents to happen and for people to sit on this comment board and act like these parents dont care is just crazy. They are some of the nicest people and parents i know, I hope they are all able to have a very merry christmas :)

neglect does not have to be intentional. Just merely leaving a child unattended, say in a driveway, it neglect. Ask a social service case worker about neglect. Yes, this incident was accidental, the dad did not intend to run over his son. But that is not the point. The point is, leaving a child unattended is neglectful, the child was left in a situation that became dangerous without adult supervision. That is neglect.

To the one that is titled "Think" you are rude, dont say things that are negative to others if you dont know the whole picture. This is a family that has alot of love. I have worked side byside with the kids mother. She is a wonderful mother. She will encourage you to do something that you would have never seen yourself doing in your life. Hope if anything every happens to anyone close to you that you will think positive then say negative things.

I do know the definitions of neglect and endangerment, and the KEY words in that definition would have to be intentionally and willfully. Again, this was an ACCIDENT.

Lots of praying going on here. Wouldn't it be great if all you had to do was close your eyes, bring your hands together and talk to an invisble man in the sky and good stuff happens?! The little tyke almost got crunched by daddy in his big dozer. Close call....that's all folks!

Accidents do happen. Six year olds do play out in the snow unsupervised. Sometimes they even go sledding! To suggest this is child neglect is cruel and unwarranted. Don't you think the father feels bad enough? Please keep such comments to yourself; the family is going though enough. Prayers to the family.

First I want to say that my prayers are with the family through this ordeal. I hope that the little boy is alright. Second-In response to the person that said that this is a case of child neglect-I live not far from this house and drive by the house every day. I see the children out there playing all the time. They are always supervised. In fact, MOST of the time there are more than 1 adults out there. This is a pure accident- not neglect.

I plow my driveway with my plowtruck. One time, I was backing up... not paying much attention as no one was supposed to be in the driveway. All at once, I noticed my 3 year old son next to my truck. I had just backed up without seeing him. My heart raced and felt real bad. If he was behing me, I could have run him over. I was very lucky. Now, I make sure I know exactly where all the kids are... and am much more careful. I hope this little boy is OK. I feel bad for the whole family.
