Rome nurse again facing sexual offense charges
WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - A registered nurse who was previously charged with soliciting men for oral sex in a Walmart bathroom four months ago, has been charged again on similar charges. According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Brent V. Reader, 29, of Rome, was charged after it is alleged he sexually assaulted another male on December 18. The victim told sheriff's deputies that he was walking home on Lamphere Road in the outer district of Rome from a local bar when Reader stopped and offered the victim a ride. The victim told sheriff's deputies that due to the cold weather, he took Reader up on the offer, and that when Reader approached the street that the victim lived on, refused to stop the vehicle, and pulled down Carey Ave at the Westmoreland-Kirkland line. The victim said that Reader pulled into a parking lot and stopped the vehicle, offering the victim $50 for the victim to perform oral sex on Reader. The victim said he refused Reader's advanced and that is when Reader grabbed the victim in a sexual manner. After Reader allegedly grabbed the victim, the victim said he jumped out of Reader's vehicle and ran through the woods and called police. Reader was found by Sheriff's Deputies on December 22 and charged him with sexual abuse, and patronizing a prostitute. Reader was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Westmoreland Court on January 21. The following comments do not necessarily represent the views of NBC-WKTV News Channel 2.
